Avie & Uma's Story
About
Avie Sheck is an artist/producer born in the Himalayas. He comes from a long line of classical Indian Musicians - his mother, Uma, being the one to pass on the gift of music. Recently, they made waves on the internet amassing over 30 million of views and cosigns by the likes of The Recording Academy (Grammys), SZA, Doechii, Priyanka Chopra and System of a Down for their Classical Indian & American Pop fusions.

Because of his father’s work Avie (and Uma) spent over a decade and a half of his childhood in India, Japan and Thailand before moving to America which substantially impacted his perspective on art. Avie's influences span from Michael Jackson and Coldplay to Gulam Ali and Miki Matsubara to name a few. Growing up he sang classical music with mom, played in Rock bands, RnB groups, large Choirs, and Barber Shop Quartets.

Uma trained in Hindustani Classical Vocal Music earning a Bachelor's degree and was a disciple to several great maestros during her time in India. She has won several national music competitions and awards in her 5 decades of music and today she teaches a select group of students as well. Uma's greatest influences are Ustad Amir Khan, Lata Mangeshkar, and Michael Jackson.

Together, the son & mom duo's musical blend has created a cutting-edge sound, pushing genre limits and promoting the universal language of music. See reviews in the Upworthy & Vogue Articles below.

Today, Avie creates from Los Angeles, CA, as a full time artist, songwriter, and producer. Uma dials in from Boston, MA and together they are working on creating a new genre by fusing the best of the East and West. They are excited to release more fusion and an original EP as they tour through America with International dates on the horizon for 2026. Ultimately, they aim to share the message of love and healing through their music.
